Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an age requirement?

Our classes accommodate 8 years old through adult for our regular classes, and we work with children as young as 5 years old in our private sessions. Workshops, camps an special events will have minimum age requirements listed. Children younger than 8 may be able to graduate to group classes before turning 8 based on individual evaluation.

Can I purchase a Starter Bundle after I've already taken a My First Class?

Yes! We don't offer discounts on packages for the Starter Bundle, but you do NOT need to repeat the My First Class with a new Starter Bundle purchase. Essentially, you will end up with an extra class to use in your bundle.

Once I purchase the Class Package (Sewing 101 or 102) where do I schedule?

All classes are scheduled under "San Diego (or Oceanside) Sewing Classes" Each class is mixed levels/experience. So you may be in Sewing 101 the same time as other students who are in Continued Learning. Individual Paced, in a group setting.

I already have some experience. Where do I start?

All new incoming students start with My First Class, with an exception to workshops with listed individual pre-requisits. This is to ensure that every student has the foundation skills and use of the classroom machines. Depending on your experience, you may move through the projects quicker than someone with no experience, but it is imperative to complete the Foundation Projects.

Where are classes held?

We have 2 locations for our classrooms: Oceanside and San Diego. You can find the addresses at the bottom of the website, labeled "Locations".

Do I need to own a sewing machine?

No! All our classes include the use of our classroom machines and tools unless specifically noted when signing up. Private machines are only allowed during Private Sessions and some traveling workshops.

Can I attend more than one class?

Scheduling is flexible! You can use your classes in both Oceanside and San Diego. You can also schedule more than one class per day. Students that travel longer distances commonly schedule back-to-back sessions at a time.

What is your Cancellation Policy?

Students receive an automated reminder via email and text (if they opt in for text reminders) 24 hours before a scheduled session - Cancellation window closes 18 hours before class starts, please make any changes, reschedule or cancel before 18 hours. Late cancellations will be considered a No-Show and will forfeit the class time.

As a courtesy, for first time no-show, we can add a Make Up session to your account upon request. Make Up Sessions must be used within 2 weeks.

Refund Policy

There are no refunds on Sewing Class purchases. If you have a specific issue, please feel free to reach out to our team via website chat, email or the Contact Us page.
